About Sophie Llwellyn
“Learn the alchemy true human beings know. The moment you accept the troubles you have been given, the door will open.“ Rumi
White Owl Counselling was established from my passion to help others find inner peace, through self-empowerment and self-awareness.
I completed a Level 4 Diploma in Integrative Counselling in Cambridge, and I am registered member of the BACP (British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy). As well as my private practice, I currently work for Stop.Breath.Think, a charity which offers free counselling services to children and young people.
As an Integrative therapist, I trained in and certified to offer a range of approaches including; Person-Centred, CBT, Emotionally Focused Therapy, Acceptance Commitment Therapy, Internal Family Systems, Existentialism and Gestalt.
I studied yoga in India, and have been a qualified yoga teacher for over 15 years. I have been providing yoga therapy, EFT and somatic therapy for over 4 years.. I extend this healing work to running free sessions with clients suffering from brain traumas, and female refugees.
I am an avid wild swimmer, rock climber and hiker. I spent my formative years scaling the peaks of China’s karst mountains, where my nature connection grew.
I believe nature is our biggest healer, and offer a range of nature based therapy sessions outside.
I have spent extensive time with Buddhist teachers on retreats, learning how to cultivate self-awareness and compassion, for oneself and outwards to the world around. This informs a large part of my counselling approach, which is very much about knowledge from the present moment, in the mind, body and heart.
